Big Appliances Under the Stairs

Most of the designs for tiny houses have shelves under the stairs. This came from a house which I did not like overall, it was very white and things were in odd places. But, how would it work to have the appliances under the stairs? It is space which needs to be used and these are things which take up a generous amount of space in a small place. Still, I'm not sure how it would be from an engineering perspective. For one thing, a washing machine moves around and most appliances require water, soap, loading and unloading...

This is My Ideal Tiny House Design

So far, this is the design I like best for a tiny house. Although, this is actually a rented small house called a yurt and it is on stilts. They call it the Birdhouse.

Of course, it isn't exactly what I want. I don't like the artificial distressed wood and I don't think stilts would work so well in Ontario. Too likely to have racoons or skunks moving in under the house for me to try it.
